About this program:

This self-paced program, delivered through a one-day on-site skills lab and a webinar is aimed at nurses and allied health professionals who self-identify as novice or advanced beginner in their knowledge, skill and judgment of wound prevention, assessment and management.
The program provides the opportunity to refine fundamental skills relevant to local wound care, such as debridement (inclusive of conservative sharp wound debridement) and infection and moisture management (including dressing selection). The program is based on the concepts and content in Wounds Canada's Best Practice Recommendation articles and provides students with the most recent information in a form they can immediately use at the bedside. Once the student successfully completes the on-site skills lab and webinar, they will receive a certificate of successful completion.

Note: The debridement section will require a community preceptorship prior to independent practice of the skill in a clinical setting.
