Program Guidelines and Wounds Canada Institute Policies
Intellectual Property
Resources provided within this program including the program syllabus, agendas, resource documents, online modules, webinar recordings, skills lab workbooks, outcome measures/assignments, etc. are the intellectual property of Wounds Canada Institute, RNAO, or both. Learners are not to share these resources for any other purpose other than to complete this program. Should a learner wish to reference the educational material, they should ask a Program Director for permission and appropriately reference the source material.
Remote Learning
All live webinars will be recorded by the session host. Recordings may be posted on the Wounds Canada Institute site for use by enrolled learners for their educational purposes only. No copies of the recordings should be downloaded onto personal computers or portable storage devices. All remote learning recordings must be deleted after use.
Attendance
Attendance is expected for all synchronous learning opportunities, including Skills Labs, Practical Evaluations, Workshops, and Webinars. Absence from such synchronous learning opportunities may result in the learner being unable to satisfy the progression requirements in their respective program. Contact an Education Coordinator for more information.
Statement of Acceptance
As health care professionals, we value the diversity and differences of all people. Wounds Canada and the Wounds Canada Institute are committed to providing a working and learning environment that allows for full and free participation of all members of the community, and to support trauma-informed rehabilitation practices. There is zero tolerance for discrimination by or against any learner, faculty, or staff member and any incident will be taken seriously and addressed by a Program Director.
Guidelines for Completing the Program Evaluation
Learners may be asked to complete a survey evaluation of their respective program. This will be made available to you on your Wounds Canada Institute portal/dashboard once you have completed all the required elements of the program. Certificates will be released after a completed program evaluation has been submitted.
Guidelines for Webinars
- Programs with a webinar component are designed to be interactive and support learners to apply knowledge learned in the online modules to a clinical case. Learners are encouraged to actively participate in the case discussion as much as possible and gain valuable ideas and clinical pearls of wisdom from faculty who are renowned expert clinicians and wound care leaders. Between 35% to 72% of the 90-minute webinar will be dedicated to interactive learner discussion and questions.
- To promote interactive learner participation, most webinars have pre-prepared handouts that include a case study or clinical scenario as well as a list of questions that will be addressed during the live webinar. This handout will be available after learners register to attend the live webinar. Learners may be required review the handout before the scheduled webinar and come to the live session ready to contribute and address the case and questions.
- Our webinars are facilitated using Zoom. Learners do not need a Zoom account to attend a session and are strongly encouraged to participate using a laptop or desktop computer. IT support is available if needed. Eligible learners will be provided with a link to join the webinar in advance of the day of the webinar.
- During webinars, learners are expected to encourage others to learn and participate, support a friendly environment, demonstrate reflection, challenge new thoughts or ways of thinking, and include useful information and resources
- It is the learner’s responsibility to manage the environment they are in whenever they are participating in live webinar/Zoom sessions associated with this program.
