Abstract: Wound cleansing is a fundamental component of effective wound management; however, is it enough? Research supports that clinicians practice with the premise that all hard-to-heal wounds that have failed to respond to standard treatment contain adherent biofilm. The prevention and removal of biofilm through wound hygiene is of clinical importance.
