Accurate assessment of skin and wound conditions in individuals with darker skin tones remains challenging because Black and Brown skin is underrepresented in nursing education and clinical resources. This article introduces the Skin and Wound Resource Toolbox, developed through a collaboration between the Ontario Black Nurses’ Network and Trent University nursing students. The resource provides educational materials, images and assessment tools to improve recognition of wound and skin conditions in darker skin tones. Increased representation and clinician competency are essential for reducing disparities and promoting equitable care.
