Increase awareness of wound healing & prevention during
Wound Healing Awareness Month!

Wounds Canada is at the forefront of promoting the significance of proactive measures to address wounds.

Join us during Wound Healing Awareness Month, and all through the year, as we raise awareness about wound prevention, management and the necessary steps to maintain healthy, wound-free skin.

Prevention is vital for a healthy life,
but what if prevention isn't achievable?
That's where
 wound management is key.

Wounds Canada is passionate about the following principles:

  1. Evading all avoidable wounds
  2. Prohibiting existing wounds from escalating to complex or chronic stages
  3. Redirecting all chronic wounds onto a healing path
  4. Enhancing and sustaining an excellent quality of life for patients with non-healing wounds

We do so by: Disseminating information about wounds to the general public, health-care providers, patients and their families, care providers, and to government representatives and policy decision makers. We also raise awareness about the struggles wound patients encounter navigating Canada's health-care system and offering solutions and advocating for the prioritization of wound prevention, care, and research.

Our Awareness Partners: The Limb Preservation Alliance

In 2023 Wounds Canada joined forces with the American Limb Preservation Society, the Canadian Podiatric Medical Association and D-Foot International to create a Limb Preservation Alliance to address, promote and advocate for limb preservation. The new alliance aligns with Wounds Canada’s mission to enable health-care providers to improve their practice and ensure the best possible care for persons with wounds or at risk for developing wounds.
