As chief executive officer of Wounds Canada, Mariam Botros MEd, DCh, IIWCC, DE, is responsible for both the implementation of the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the organization. She is a chiropodist and diabetes educator by training and completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership. Mariam has also published, developed and lectured in multiple programs both nationally and internationally. She is also the vice president of D foot International. Through her different roles as an executive director, health-care practitioner and educator, researcher and faculty member for many well-recognized organizations, Mariam has extensive practical and professional experience in advancing public health policy and is respected as a strategic, visionary, system thinker.

Ian serves as Editor, Major Publications. His responsibilities include Wound Care Canada, Limb Preservation in Canada and Best Practice Recommendations. Ian has more than 30 years experience in medical publishing, including 12 years as Executive Editor for the Canadian division of the world’s largest publisher of medical and scientific journals and information.
Kim D’Souza, BSc. is currently an Education Coordinator with a background in biological sciences from the University of Guelph. She brings experience in education, program coordination, and learner support, with a background in teaching in Indigenous communities. Her work reflects a strong interest in accessible learning, meaningful engagement, and supporting positive educational experiences.
Maxine Juneau is a research assistant at Wounds Canada. She graduated from McMaster University with her Bachelor of Nursing in 2022 and Master of Nursing in 2026. Her graduate work at McMaster focused on nursing roles in diabetic foot care. Currently she is a practicing registered nurse at the cardiovascular intensive care unit at St. Michael’s Hospital in downtown Toronto and is passionate about improving nursing care for people living with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease.
Darren Levine EdD, is an independent consultant supporting organizations to reimagine possibilities in today’s changing landscape. As a grant writer, social innovator and leadership educator, Dr. Levine’s work focuses on cultivating workplaces that inspire and engage, where all members can discover their creative potential and exercise leadership for innovative change.
MEGAN LOGEMAN, BSc. is a health management professional, with experience managing allied health and primary care clinics in the Greater Toronto Area. Megan is also involved in projects with Musculoskeletal Management Courses of Canada, providing support to continuing education and training for medical professionals. Recently, she has been included in published research that appears in a special edition of Healthcare Management Forum (HMF).
Sasangi holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Toronto with a Major in Health Policy Studies and a Double-Minor in Psychology and Anthropology. This year, she will be completing her Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Seneca College.
Maria is an Operations Coordinator and HR Administrator at Wounds Canada. She studied psychology at York University and brings experience in administration, operations support, and customer service. In her role, Maria assists with organizational coordination, internal processes, and team support to help advance the work of Wounds Canada.
As the Business Operations, Accounting and Human Resource Manager of Wounds Canada, Addie is responsible for accounting, HR, office management, organizational planning, and program administration. Addie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, and post graduate certificates in Human Resources Management and Management Accounting.
Maureen is responsible for all of the logistics for Wounds Canada conferences and events. She has over 20 years of experience in the trade show/events business, as well as expertise in working with non-profit associations and on the facility side of events. Maureen helps Wounds Canada deliver education and awareness about wounds to thousands of professionals every year.
Sue brings decades of experience in health communications and leadership to her role at Wounds Canada. She provides strategic advice to the senior leadership group and provides hands-on support to implement the plans that will achieve the organization’s goals. Her role includes identifying and assessing opportunities and challenges, measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of the organization’s activities, undertaking special projects and creating strategically focused communications. Her passion is bringing the latest evidence into forms patients, clinicians and health decision makers can use to change their decision-making and behaviours in a way that supports a vision of health for all.
Christine Smith is a communications and content professional with experience developing clear, engaging materials for diverse audiences. Her work focuses on translating complex information into accessible content that supports education, awareness and meaningful engagement. Christine approaches her work with a commitment to thoughtful storytelling and impactful communication.
Olena works closely with clients to fulfil marketing initiatives while also promoting Wounds Canada through various communications channels. She has managed a variety of medical education programs, digital projects, events, health-care professional and patient awareness campaigns and enjoys working in areas of education and advocacy knowing that the work has a direct impact on the quality of life for patients. Olena completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto in Biology and Psychology and has also completed certificates in Business Communications and Digital Strategy and Communications Management.
Ruby is currently an Education Coordinator at Wounds Canada with a background in sociology from York University. Ruby has built her career within mission-driven, non-profit health and social service organizations. She brings experience from roles at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, Peel Children's Aid Society, and The College of Family Physicians of Canada, where she supported programs that strengthen communities and advance patient centred-care.
Andrina is currently an Education Coordinator at Wounds Canada. She graduated from York University in 2023 with a degree in Business and Society and brings experience in program coordination, education, and technology, with a background in digital tools and systems that support learning and communication.
